Don’t feel guilty Joe, with rabbits urinating in my turf on a regular basis, yellow spots occur throughout. They are worse than dogs…I spray them with vinegar, yet they still do not get the message to stay in my neighbors’ yards. 😉
I will look for the Bonide drench…

Hi Diane, I do remember your crape myrtle & it’s great to hear it survived the winter. In my area I was advised to double wrap them with burlap. I di that one year & after that I decided they will sink or swim on their own & they got the message. I know you go organically as much as possible bu Bonide makes a soil drench that seems tswork on ornamental trees.

FYI Joe. Remember that Black Diamond Crape Myrtle I planted last year? Well, it survived the winter just fine. This season with one feeding, it is over my head, but it attracts Jap Beetles and leaf hoppers, so many leaves are chewed like swiss cheese. ;-( I do look forward to the blooms as there are many buds.

Diane, This post is timely & very touching. I’ve just returned from visiting my best friend since kindergarten ( 70 years ago) & we spent some time in his garden just sitting…He is very ill now & has always gotten the most enjoyment from the simple things in life.
